This historic harbour town is on the doorstep of everything that makes North Cornwall such a sought-after staycation destination.

We’re sure you’ll make adventures along The Camel Trail — by foot or bike — part of your itinerary whenever you head to your holiday home. 18 miles of traffic free, flat surfaced track following a disused railway line, you’ll pass along the glistening coast and then through the idyllic countryside from Padstow to Wadebridge, Bodmin and Wenfordbridge.

The Padstow and Prideaux Place walk is another of our favourites nearby, heading in the opposite direction along the South West Coast Path. You turn inland from Harbour Cove — a beautiful, deserted golden beach — eventually passing the Tudor mansion Prideaux Place on your way back into Padstow.

Twitchers will also want to keep their eyes peeled for migrant birds, particularly in autumn — buntings, pipits, merlins and peregrines all call the North Cornish coast home!

Hop on the ferry from Padstow Landing and you can explore Rock’s stunning long stretches of dog-friendly beach; the South West Coast Path up to Polzeath takes you past stunning shores — however often you visit your lodge, you’ll never get bored of the sea views from Trebetherick Point.

North Cornwall is synonymous with surfing, so if you’re bringing the board and wetsuit, you could head to Harlyn Bay, Fistral, Watergate Bay, Polzeath or Bude. Or, head further afield for big-ticket attractions like St Michael’s Mount, The Eden Project, The Minack Theatre, Tintagel Castle or The Lost Gardens.
