But the fun can’t start until you’re packed and ready to go. That’s why knowing what to bring and what’s already at the caravan park waiting for you makes all the difference. With that in mind, here’s our caravan holiday checklist – aka everything you need to bring with you to Lovat Parks. Don’t miss out because you left the essentials at home… At a glance: Our holiday homes and lodges are kitted out with what you’d expect of luxury holiday accommodation: think fluffy bath towels and hand soap, plus all the cooking equipment you need to self-cater your trip What do we ask you to bring? All the extras you need to relax and have fun ‘your way’: books, games, bikes, surf boards and beach towels, for example (more detail below) What’s already included? Before you start loading the car, it’s worth knowing that our holiday homes, caravans and lodges come well-equipped with many of the comforts you’d expect from home. Across our parks, you’ll find furnished accommodation with modern kitchens, comfortable living spaces, heating, bathrooms and cooking appliances ready for your arrival. In the kitchen… Depending on your accommodation type, many static caravan essentials are already provided – including cookware, crockery, cutlery, kettles, toasters, ovens, microwaves. Some lodges and holiday homes even include dishwashers, hot tubs and outdoor seating areas. Entertainment… Our free borrows include toy and board game libraries and dog ball libraries. Explore nature with our Big 5 Adventurer Set, featuring binoculars, a compass, and an activity sheet. Our Beach Adventurer Sets help reduce plastic waste, while beach toy libraries at all coastal parks provide everything for a seaside day. Sun Haven guests can use beach carts, and our free wooden belly boards offer an eco-friendly alternative to polystyrene. Living spaces contain a TV, Roberts Radios in certain accommodation – and there are always plenty of plug sockets dotted about for convenient device charging. In the bedroom… Fresh bed linen, duvets, pillows and bath towels are all provided when you stay in our lodges and holiday homes. For touring or camping pitches, you’ll need to bring your own bedding and towels. In the bathroom… Family bathrooms and private en-suites contain a shower, wash basin and WC. Toilet paper, bath towels/hand towels, hair dryers and hand soap are also provided. Exclusive lodges or Premium homes may also include touches like robes and slippers. Some of our lodges include a washing machine for added convenience. Check your booking details before arrival. We also provide laundry tablets, eco washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets for easy clean-ups. Exactly what to take on caravan holiday adventures will depend on the season, the weather and the type of trip you’re planning. 1. Things to pack for an entertaining caravan holiday with us Let’s start with the fun stuff! Here’s what you need to bring depending on your hobbies and interests when on holiday. Bikes & scooters: Bring your wheels! We welcome bikes and scooters on-site, though please note they are not permitted after dark. So, be sure to enjoy them during the day – and maybe save the evening for a peaceful sunset stroll. Paddleboards & surf boards: If you enjoy watersports, bring your paddleboards or surfboards along. In Cornwall and Norfolk, we offer free bellyboards for your use, making it even easier to dive into the waves. Additionally, Penmarlam Lodge Retreat is just a downhill stroll from Penmarlam Boat Yard, a perfect location to launch your paddleboard or surfboard. Books, games & electronics: However you and the family best like to unwind – make sure you pack your favourite entertainment. This could also include a bucket and spade or inflatable for the beach. Beach towels: Please bring your own beach towels. Our soft white towels are for showering and bathing only, so we kindly ask that you don’t take them to the beach (so we can keep them looking this way). Picnic blankets & cool boxes: Bring everything you need for beach and woodland picnics while you’re out and about. Backpacks, cool bags and picnic items are a must. BBQs: We sell both gas and charcoal BBQs in our shop, and we ask that you use them only on the designated BBQ slabs located by selected holiday homes and lodges. Bricks for extra support are available to borrow outside our Reception/Park Shop. Please avoid using BBQs on grass or decking areas to help protect the environment. For safety reasons, open fires, fire pits and generators are strictly prohibited. Enjoy your outdoor cooking responsibly. 2. Clothing and footwear Now for some practical items… One of the biggest questions guests ask is what clothes to pack for a caravan holiday – especially in the UK, where the weather can change quickly. Layers are always a good idea, no matter the season. We’d recommend packing: Comfortable everyday clothing Waterproof jackets or coats Warm jumpers or hoodies for evenings Walking shoes or boots to get out and see the views in all weather Slippers or cosy indoor footwear Swimwear if your accommodation includes a hot tub or you’re heading to the beach Hats, sunglasses and sunscreen during warmer months If you’re unsure what to take to a caravan break, practical clothing that works for both relaxing and exploring is always a safe choice. 3. Toiletries and personal essentials While your accommodation includes items like hand soap, guests should still bring their own toiletries and personal items. Food and kitchen extras Our accommodation includes kitchen facilities and cooking essentials, making self-catering simple during your stay. However, you may still want to bring a few extras depending on your plans. When deciding what to take on caravan holiday trips, consider packing: Snacks for the journey Cooking oils, seasonings or favourite ingredients Reusable water bottles BBQ supplies Planning ahead can make your first evening more relaxing, particularly if you’re arriving later in the day. 5. Bring yourself – and your furry friends Above all, come as you are – ready to unwind, explore and soak up the beauty of nature. If you’re staying in pet-friendly accommodation, be sure to bring your four-legged companion, along with their essentials: a cosy bed, food and water bowls, a lead, and, of course, their favourite treats! But don’t worry – your pup will be spoiled with goodies on arrival, including a special welcome pack. As all of our parks are dog friendly, we offer plenty of scenic walks, tail-wagging adventures and pet-friendly amenities to make their stay just as enjoyable as yours! A sense of adventure is also recommended. But if you forget anything – no worries.
