At Lovat Parks, we believe the best holidays start with the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and adventure. Whether you’re escaping for a peaceful retreat or an action-packed getaway, knowing what to bring and what is already here waiting for you can make all of the difference. 

Bring yourself and your furry friends

Above all, come as you are—ready to unwind, explore, and soak up the beauty of nature. If you’re staying in pet-friendly accommodation, be sure to bring your four-legged companion along with their essentials: a cosy bed, food and water bowls, a lead, and, of course, their favourite treats! But don’t worry—your pup will be spoiled with goodies on arrival, including a special welcome pack. As all of our parks are dog friendly, we offer plenty of scenic walks, tail-wagging adventures, and pet-friendly amenities to make their stay just as enjoyable as yours!

Whether you’re glamping in a safari tent, staying in a stylish lodge, or cosying up in a holiday home, endless adventures await just beyond our park. From National Trust trails to scenic beachside strolls and exciting on-park activities, all you need is a spirit of adventure for an unforgettable stay. Don’t forget your walking boots and wellies to make the most of the breathtaking walks right on our doorstep!

Additional items to bring for your stay:

• Bikes / Scooters: Bring your wheels! We welcome bikes and scooters on-site, though please note they are not permitted after dark. So, be sure to enjoy them during the day, and maybe save the evening for a peaceful sunset stroll.
  
• Paddleboards / Surf Boards: If you enjoy a spot of watersport, bring your paddleboards or surfboards along. In Cornwall and Norfolk, we offer free bellyboards for your use, making it even easier to dive into the waves. Additionally, Penmarlam Lodge Retreat is just a downhill stroll from Penmarlam Boat Yard, a perfect location to launch your paddleboard or surfboard.
  
• Beach Towels: Please bring your own beach towels. Our provided towels are for showering and bathing only, so we kindly ask that you don’t take them to the beach.
  
• BBQs: We sell both gas and charcoal BBQs in our shop, and we ask that you use them only on the designated BBQ slabs located by selected holiday homes and lodges. Bricks for extra support are available to borrow outside our Reception/Park Shop. Please avoid using BBQs on grass or decking areas to help protect the environment. For safety reasons, open fires, fire pits, and generators are strictly prohibited. Enjoy your outdoor cooking responsibly!

Food and drink – self-catering made simple

All our accommodation is self-catering, giving you the freedom to prepare your favourite meals just the way you like them. Each kitchen includes:

While our lodges provide everything you need to cook, we recommend bringing a few essentials to make your stay even smoother:

Laundry & Cleaning

Some of our lodge accommodation includes a washing machine for added convenience—check your lodge details before arrival. We also provide laundry tablets, eco washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets for easy clean-ups.

Shopping Nearby

Forgot something? No worries! There are supermarkets nearby (details in our handbooks) where you can stock up on fresh produce. We’ve also got no end of holiday treats in our park shops.

• TV in the lounge – perfect for cosy evenings in.

• Eco-friendly washing-up liquid & dishwasher tablets – for easy clean-up.
• Tea towels – another little touch to make things easier.
• Welcome tea, coffee, and biscuits – a little treat on arrival after your drive to us. 
• Toilet roll and hand soap – so no one gets caught out on the first night

We’ve got fun covered

Enjoy our free borrows for fun-filled adventures, including toy and board game libraries and dog ball libraries. Explore nature with our Big 5 Adventurer Set, featuring binoculars, a compass, and an activity sheet to earn a Big 5 medal. Our Beach Adventurer Sets help reduce plastic waste, while beach toy libraries at all coastal parks provide everything for a seaside day. Sun Haven guests can use beach carts, and our free wooden belly boards offer an eco-friendly alternative to polystyrene. Plus, at Lovat Parks, you’re welcome to bring your own gas or charcoal BBQ, as long as it’s raised off the ground and not used on decking.
