7-Day Norfolk Itinerary

Whether you’re exploring sandy beaches with your dogs or discovering historic landmarks, our 7 day itinerary ensures you make the most of your visit while experiencing the best of Norfolk from our very own Waxham Sands Holiday Park.

Day 1 – Wroxham

Start your Norfolk adventure in Wroxham, the gateway to the Norfolk Broads. Stroll around Wroxham Village, browse the independent shops, and enjoy a scenic boat trip along the tranquil waterways. Visit Wroxham Barns to meet friendly farm animals and explore craft studios. End the day with a relaxed meal at a riverside pub like the Bridge Restaurant with a beautiful location on the Broads.

Day 2 – Great Yarmouth

Spend the day in the vibrant seaside town of Great Yarmouth. Visit the Great Yarmouth Sea Life Centre to see fascinating marine life, then explore the charming Great Yarmouth Miniature Village. Enjoy traditional fish and chips on the seafront before an evening at the famous Hippodrome Circus, known for its spectacular performances.

Day 3 – Hemsby

Enjoy classic seaside fun in Hemsby Village, where you can explore arcades, relax on sandy beaches, and grab an ice cream from Hemsby Beach Cafe. In the afternoon, head to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach for thrilling rides and amusements.

Day 4 – Horsey

Just a 10 minute walk from our park, you can explore the National Trust backed Horsey Windpump. Then, return to our holiday park and cross the sand dunes to begin a tranquil coastal walk towards Horsey, where you might spot seals basking on the shore. Continue to Happisburgh Lighthouse, one of Norfolk’s most iconic landmarks, and climb to the top for breathtaking views.

Day 5 – Reedham

Spend a fun-filled day at Pettitts Adventure Park, perfect for families with young children, featuring rides, animals, and play areas. Then, visit Thrigby Wildlife Gardens, home to tigers, crocodiles, and exotic birds. If you’re up for more adventure, BeWILDerwood is just a 30 minute drive away—a magical park filled with enchanting treehouses and imagination capturing characters.

Day 6 – Cromer

Head to Cromer and visit the fantastic Amazona Zoo to see a variety of animals. After lunch, take a walk along the famous Cromer Pier or explore the town’s charming shops or sample the crab this town is so famous for. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful woodland walk or a bike ride through Bacton Woods.

Day 7 – Aylsham

End your trip with a thrilling visit to the Wizard Maze at the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall, an outdoor adventure perfect for all ages. In the afternoon, embark on a nostalgic ride aboard the Bure Valley Railway, winding through the picturesque Norfolk countryside. If time permits, make a final stop at Dinosaur Adventure Park before heading home.
