Whether you’re taking in charming coastal towns on a crisp seaside stroll, savouring delicious local dishes, or simply relaxing together, we have two holiday parks in Cornwall open until the end of the year, before they reopen in the spring. Now is the perfect time to embrace the magic of the season and plan your romantic UK winter getaway during the off peak season.

Choosing the best winter break

Relax with us this winter and embrace the cosy charm of Cornwall with your other half. Experience the tranquil beauty of one of our favourite UK regions during a quieter time of year, as the landscapes transform with the changing seasons. Enjoy the winter atmosphere, with outdoor activities, seasonal treats, and attractions—free from the summer crowds. What makes our two Cornish holiday parks special is their unique location, nestled between the coast and countryside. You’ve got Padstow Holiday Village, just a short trip from our holiday park’s namesake harbour town, perfect for a peaceful day out. Then there’s Penmarlam, set among rolling fields and a boat trip away from Fowey, a charming town with an attractive harbour and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Both of our parks are open until the end of the year, before reopening in the spring.

Padstow: A cosy coastal town for couples

Best for: Winter walks

From the Camel Trail to the Seven Bays beaches or a simple stroll hand in hand around the harbour, Padstow’s scenic beauty, especially in the ethereal stillness of winter, makes it an unforgettable destination for a cosy retreat. The Padstow to Stepper Point circular walk combines breathtaking coastal views, rugged cliffs, and historic landmarks like the Daymark tower. For a shorter stroll, the route to Harbour Cove and Hawker’s Cove takes you along serene estuary beaches, with vast golden sands revealed at low tide. If you’re up for a drive, the Fowey Hall Walk is one of our favourite National Trust walks offering a charming mix of woodland, riverbanks, and coastal paths.

Where to eat:

Clearly, Rick Stein loves Padstow as much as we do! His flagship restaurant, The Seafood Restaurant, is located right on the harbour front—perfect for a romantic meal by the water. In addition, you can explore Rick Stein’s other offerings in the town, including a café, fish and chip shop, deli, and even a cookery school for a date suggestion. For a cosy, historic setting, The Golden Lion, the oldest pub in town, serves a delicious three-meat roast by the quayside. Overlooking the Camel Estuary, The Mariners by Paul Ainsworth invites couples to enjoy an all day menu with a stunning view.

Local attractions for couples

One of the most unique attractions nearby is the Eden Project, a large environmental complex that houses lush biomes and offers interactive exhibits. It’s the perfect spot for couples to enjoy a cosy day out, wandering hand in hand through tropical rainforests and Mediterranean landscapes, even in the depths of a Cornish winter.

For a fun and hands-on indoor experience, why not take a cooking class together? Rick Stein’s Cookery School, just a 5 minute drive from our holiday park, offers a variety of classes, from seafood cooking to bread making. Choose a class that sparks your interest and spend the day learning new techniques and recipes side by side.

Where to stay: Padstow Holiday Village

For a truly relaxing stay, choose our very own Padstow Holiday Village, which offers comfortable holiday lodges and holiday homes set in the quiet of Padstow’s surrounding countryside surrounded by scenic landscapes. It’s an excellent base to explore the area in the countdown to Christmas.
