Making Waves: Lovat Parks at the Great Atlantic Raft Race 2m B Corp Lovat Parks 11/04/25 At Lovat Parks, we don’t just care about providing exceptional holidays, we care about supporting the communities and coastlines that make those holidays possible. That’s why, in 2024, our team proudly entered the Great Atlantic Raft Race in Cornwall, raising funds for the incredible Harlyn Lifesaving Club. Teamwork Meets Sustainability Our staff went above and beyond, using their paid volunteering hours to build a raft entirely from upcycled park materials. Every plank and planklet told a story of sustainability, creativity, and collaboration. Then came the challenge: rough seas tested their teamwork, endurance, and problem-solving skills. Despite the waves, the Lovat Parks crew navigated the course with determination, finishing 5th overall from 11 entrants (and 10 finishers). It was a day that combined fun, adventure, and purpose, showing that supporting local causes can be an unforgettable experience — for staff and community alike. Raising Funds for Harlyn Lifesaving Club The race wasn’t just about friendly competition. All proceeds and fundraising went to Harlyn Lifesaving Club, helping the volunteers protect Cornwall’s coastline, train young lifesavers, and promote ocean safety across the region. By combining team volunteering, sustainable materials, and community fundraising, Lovat Parks turned a day on the water into a meaningful impact for both people and planet. Celebrating Community and Coastal Spirit The Great Atlantic Raft Race is more than a charity event, it’s a celebration of Cornwall’s vibrant coastal community, teamwork, and resilience. Lovat Parks is proud to contribute to that spirit, proving that holidays and volunteering can go hand in hand. Whether it’s building a raft, cheering on local heroes, or protecting our beaches, every B Corp action helps ensure Cornwall remains a beautiful, safe, and thriving place for everyone. Looking Ahead Next year, we plan to expand our volunteer initiatives, engage more team members, and continue supporting Harlyn Lifesaving Club and other local community projects. Because at Lovat Parks, positive impact isn’t just a report, it’s living our values, having fun, and giving back, one wave at a time.
