That’s why we are thrilled to announce that we are now a proud member of the Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) Ocean Network. This partnership strengthens our commitment to tackling plastic pollution, holding corporations accountable, and inspiring future generations to safeguard our planet’s precious waterways. Why This Matters The SAS Ocean Network is at the forefront of the fight for cleaner oceans, pushing for policy changes and empowering communities to take direct action. By joining this initiative, we are contributing to tangible efforts that make a real difference in preserving marine ecosystems. How Our Membership Supports Change Through our partnership with the SAS Ocean Network, we are helping to support: SAS Education Projects – Over 1.4 million students in 3,640+ schools across the UK have been inspired to take action against plastic waste through Surfers Against Sewage educational programs. Powerful Petitions – Campaigns like the Dirty Money petition, which secured 173,043 public signatures, demand an end to water companies profiting from pollution. The Million Mile Clean Campaign – In 2023 alone, this initiative removed 89,909kg of waste from beaches, rivers, streets, and mountains, with the help of 93,906 volunteers who collectively covered 348,214 miles. Community Action for Inland Waters – So far, 50 communities have been guided through the process of applying for designation of their local rivers and inland bathing waters. Plastic-Free Towns & Cities – Over 910 towns and cities are on their way to becoming Plastic Free Communities, taking meaningful steps to eliminate plastic waste. Our Commitment to a Cleaner Future As a B Corp, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. From reducing waste across our parks to supporting conservation efforts, we are committed to making a positive impact. Our membership with SAS’s Ocean Network is just one of the many ways we are working towards a cleaner, greener future. We encourage our guests, team members, and the wider community to get involved in protecting our oceans. Whether it’s participating in a beach clean, reducing single-use plastics, or spreading awareness, every action counts. Together, we can make waves for positive change. Link copied
