Think seal spotting at Looe, kayaking in Fowey, and cream teas at a grand old estate. Oh, and plenty of fresh seafood along the way, of course. If you’re craving a week of coastal charm, fresh sea air, and breathtaking scenery of rolling hills, here’s the perfect 7 night adventure using Penmarlam Lodge Retreat as your base. Your 7 Day Itinerary for South Cornwall Day 1: Looe Ease into Cornwall with a wander around Looe’s charming harbour, pasty in hand. Take in the colourful fishing boats and soak up the laid-back atmosphere before setting sail on a boat trip around Looe Island. Keep your eyes peeled for seals basking on the rocks and seabirds nesting on the cliffs. Round off the day with a mouthwatering seafood dinner at The Sardine Factory – a must for food lovers. Day 2: Fowey Today, it’s all about adventure. Take a boat trip from your accommodation at Penmarlam over to Fowey, a harbour town in an Area Of Outstanding Beauty. Hire a kayak and glide along the tranquil waters of the Fowey Estuary, discovering secret inlets and sandy coves along the way. Stop for a swim in the crystal-clear waters before drying off and heading into Fowey for a relaxed riverside lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring the town’s charming streets, filled with independent shops and cosy cafés. Day 3: Bodmin Step back in time at Lanhydrock House, a beautifully preserved Victorian estate nestled in rolling parkland. Wander through its opulent rooms and manicured gardens before indulging in a classic Cornish cream tea at the estate’s café. If you’re up for a walk, explore the estate’s picturesque woodland trails. Day 4: Readymoney Cove & Polkerris Start your morning with a refreshing swim at Readymoney Cove, one of our favourite Cornish beaches. This sheltered cove is perfect for a gentle dip, offering calm waters and stunning coastal views. Dry off and set off on a scenic coastal stroll to Polkerris, a stunning hidden cove. As the day winds down, enjoy a drink at The Rashleigh Inn while watching the sun set over the water – a truly magical experience. Day 5: Mevagissey & Charlestown Explore the picture-perfect fishing village of Mevagissey, where narrow streets are lined with independent shops, art galleries, and tempting seafood restaurants. Tuck into a fresh seafood lunch before heading to Charlestown, a harbour town famous for its historic tall ships. Soak up the maritime history and enjoy a relaxed evening by the water. Day 6: Whitsand Bay For those who love dramatic coastal scenery, a clifftop walk along Whitsand Bay is a must. Marvel at the miles of golden beaches stretching below, and take in the fresh sea air. Follow the South West Coast Path, stopping for a drink at the Cliff Top Café while soaking up the spectacular views. Day 7: Looe Spend your final day unwinding on Looe Beach. Paddle in the shallows, relax on the golden sand, or simply watch the fishing boats bobbing in the harbour. End your adventure the classic way – with fish and chips by the water, as the sun sets over the sea. Fancy Your Own South Cornwall Adventure?
