This is your chance to choose a holiday that truly gives back. What Does ‘B Corp’ Actually Mean? You may have seen the B Corp logo more frequently, but what does it really represent? In short, it signifies a new, verified, and better way of doing business. A Movement of ‘Better Corporations’ B Corp, short for ‘Certified B Corporation’, is a global movement of companies that use business as a force for good. It’s a certification for for-profit companies committed to balancing profit with purpose, evaluating their impact on workers, customers, the community, and the planet. A B Corp is a business that has been independently verified to prove it generates a significant positive impact across its entire operation. The Rigorous Certification Process Achieving B Corp status is far more than just a badge; it’s a meticulous process of third-party verification that ensures a company’s claims are backed by solid evidence. To become certified, a business must: Complete the B Impact Assessment and achieve a verified score of at least 80 points across five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. Make a legal commitment to be accountable to all stakeholders—not just shareholders—embedding this purpose directly into the company’s legal structure. Operate with full transparency by making their performance report publicly available on their B Corp profile for anyone to see. To maintain this high standard, companies must recertify every three years, proving their ongoing commitment and continuous improvement. Our Journey to Becoming the UK’s First B Corp Holiday Park We are thrilled to join this global community of nearly 10,000 businesses (as of November 2025) dedicated to using business for good. Our B Corp journey has been one of constant learning and improvement. Our Score and Commitment to Improvement Our initial certification in 2020 gave us a score of 82.4 points. Following a huge team effort and dedication to enhancing our practices, we were delighted to announce that our B Corp score has improved to a new high of 91.1. This result is significantly above the 80 point pass mark and reflects our team’s unwavering dedication. As our founder, Raoul Fraser, puts it, “We fundamentally believe in the B Corp motto, that business can be a force for good.” This is the core belief we put into practice every single day. Meet Our B Corp Champion To ensure we continue to meet and exceed these high standards, we have our own official B Corp champion, Lian. Her role is to bring our commitment to life across the parks. She visits our teams, helps establish new partnerships, and ensures all our sustainable practices are correctly implemented and measured. Lian is the face of our commitment, turning our ethical goals into real-world results you can see and feel. What B Corp Status Means in Practice at Our Parks So, how does our B Corp status translate into tangible benefits for your holiday? It’s woven into the fabric of our parks, with measurable initiatives that benefit our planet, people, and local communities. Choosing Lovat Parks means choosing a holiday you can be proud of. Initiatives for the Planet We are passionate about protecting the stunning natural landscapes our parks call home. Here are just a few of the practical steps we’ve taken: Energy Efficiency: We are trialling PV systems for caravans, installing solar panels, and using smart meters to reduce our energy consumption. Waste Reduction: We have implemented food waste schemes, set up wormeries for composting, and have successfully removed single-use plastics from our daily operations. Water Conservation: You’ll find water refill stations across our parks, and we use clever, water-saving planting schemes to conserve this precious resource. Biodiversity: We are committed to nurturing local ecosystems. In 2023 alone, we planted 214 trees and created 1755m² of wildflower meadows at our parks in Cornwall. Sustainable Guest Amenities: To fight plastic pollution, we’ve introduced a beach toy library and provide reusable wooden belly boards for guests. Initiatives for People and Community Our commitment goes beyond environmental metrics. We believe in creating a positive social impact for our teams and the local communities that make our parks so special. We are exploring how holiday parks can offer a positive alternative to second-home ownership, which can help alleviate local housing pressures. This sustainable ethos is one of the top 10 reasons to buy with Lovat Parks. We also make regular donations to small, grassroots organisations, empowering our park teams to choose the local causes where our support will have the greatest effect. We’re Better Together: Our B Corp Partnerships A key part of the B Corp ethos is collaboration. We actively partner with other businesses who share our commitment to sustainability. Our park shops are stocked with products from fellow B Corps, including: Cotswold Fayre: A supplier of delicious, sustainable food and drink. TrueStart Coffee: A carbon-negative, family-run coffee company. Seep: A mission-led brand creating plastic-free cleaning tools. By working with these verified businesses, we strengthen our collective positive impact. We are always looking for new ways to enhance our positive impact. The B Lab standards themselves are constantly evolving to meet new global challenges, and we are preparing to meet these new, more rigorous requirements to ensure we stay at the forefront of sustainable business [6].
