Lovat Parks Welcomes Councillor Rowland O’Connor to Discuss Exciting Developments and Community Safety 2m Lovat Lovat Parks 29/05/25 Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Councillor Rowland O’Connor, who was recently elected to represent the St Columb Major, St Mawgan & St Wenn division on Cornwall Council. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the journey Lovat Parks has been on since acquiring Sun Haven in 2020, and to discuss our ongoing commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and future growth. Since taking over Sun Haven, we have focused on embedding effortless sustainability interventions that help protect our beautiful environment while ensuring a fantastic guest experience. We’re proud of the time our team spends volunteering locally and giving back to the community that supports us and fostering strong local connections. Looking ahead, we’re excited to work on new development plans, including an ambitious biodiversity enhancement project that will enrich the local habitat and contribute to Cornwall’s natural beauty. A key area of focus in our conversation with Councillor O’Connor was a campaign close to the hearts of many locals: lowering the speed limit from 60mph to 20mph outside the park entrance. Reducing the speed limit would make this area far safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders, improving overall safety and encouraging more active travel. We’re committed to supporting this campaign and look forward to working with Rowland to bring about this positive change. Stay tuned as we continue to grow responsibly, work closely with our community, and create a safer, more sustainable environment for everyone at visiting or working at Sun Haven.
