Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust

Lovat Parks Supports…

We are delighted to announce that Lovat Parks Cornwall have become a Tourism Business Supporter of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Last week our team were delighted to visit the Newquay airbase to learn more about the lifesaving work of the air ambulance. In 2020 the brand new AW169 attended over 1,000 missions in Cornwall. During our visit to the airbase, we experienced how much the helicopter and its crew are relied upon to reach people in urgent need of critical lifesaving care, while we were visiting the helicopter returned from one mission only to refuel before heading to the next emergency.

Cornwall & its coastline

As our parks are located so close to the Cornish coast, we are extremely aware of the importance of the air ambulance which is able to attend critical emergencies in isolated locations which are often difficult to reach by car, especially considering Cornwall’s challenging road networks. On average, the helicopter can reach an emergency in just 12 minutes from an initial 999 call, and it is this rapid response, and the highly skilled team of pilots, paramedics and doctors that saves so many lives.

The hospitality industry

Hospitality and tourism add to the charity’s workload and during the summer season missions increase by nearly 40%. While four out of five patients are local, one fifth of patients are seriously sick or injured tourists. Lovat Parks Cornwall will be helping to raise vital funds to help Cornwall Air Ambulance cover the cost of the extra missions.

We’ll be supporting the trust with their fundraising projects as well as holding events of our own, so stay tuned to find out how you can get involved and support the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
