Beach cleans with Cornwall’s Beach Guardians

Our commitment to protect our local environment is at the heart of everything we do.

We’re so lucky that our parks are situated within walking distance of some of the UK’s best beaches and we believe it is our job to safeguard them.

We’re proud of our commitment to clean up our neighbouring coastline so we have teamed up with local heroes Beach Guardians to take part in monthly beach cleans across Cornwall. We will continue to support the Beach Guardians important work to help protect Cornwall’s coastline for future generations to enjoy.

Together, our Cornish parks are getting out and supporting some great local causes and have decided to join up with Beach Guardians for community beach clean-up’s! Inspired by our commitment to harmony between nature and tourism, we are delighted to be establishing this collaboration with Beach Guardians to help protect Cornwall’s stunning coastline for future generations to enjoy.

Who are Beach Guardian?

Beach Guardian was co-founded by marine biologist @emilystevensonbg and her father, Rob. Emily has been picking up plastic from Cornish beaches for over half her life. Living by the sea, Emily was witnessing first hand the destruction happening on the beaches, in the seas and to the local marine life.

Over the years Beach Guardians have hosted regular community beach cleans to collect and remove litter from some of our most-loved Cornish beaches. They also now teach environmental educational workshops to schools to improve the health and well-being of people and the planet.

The importance of keeping our beaches cleans

Getting outdoors for beach cleans has a variety of benefits for people, marine life and our planet. By collecting objects stuck in the sand and removing them from our beaches, litter is not only minimized as an unsightly problem but it also reduces the risk of hazards to people and animals. We try to recycle as much of the collected materials as possible too – disposing of waste in the right way ensures Cornwall’s coastline remains as stunning as ever.

Our Beach Guardian Collaboration

It is important to Lovat that we care for our community and the environment. As we have so many beautiful beaches located near our parks, we want to protect our coastline, marine life and our beautiful beaches for everyone to enjoy. Joining the professionals at Beach Guardian on regular beach cleans across Cornwall has broadened our knowledge on the dangerous marine pollutants and how best to collect & clean the beach!

Our local beaches

As there are so many beautiful beaches near our parks, it is important to us that these beaches continue to look the way they should for the community and the planet. You can reach Gwithian Towans beach in just five minutes from Parbola Holiday Park and explore the swelling waves, sandy dunes and rock pools. The iconic sands of Cornwall’s north coast extend from Hayle to the National Trust’s Godrevy beach where you can venture out and view the beautiful scenery this special part of the world has to offer. Located just 15-minutes from Sun Haven Holiday Park is award-winning Mawgan Porth beach, one of Cornwall’s best beaches, you can partake in a wide array of exciting activities or relax on the sand after exploring Cornish towns and admire the beautiful coastline.
