As the winter chill starts to freeze over, the Christmas holidays draw near. This fun-filled festive time of year is a great way for family bonding and catching up with old friends. We have selected some of the most popular Christmas activities for everyone to enjoy. We hope this selection gets you in the Christmas spirit this year!

If you’re going to be in Kent this Christmas...

Twilight Christmas at Hever Castle

20th November - 3rd January

All ages are welcome to revel in the Christmas spirit at Hever Castle this year. Wrap up warm and witness the magically dressed castle, glistening walks through the gardens. After you have completed the festive journey around the castle, make sure you don’t miss out on the fair!

A Canterbury Merry Brickmas

11th December - 2nd January

Santa's workshop has moved to Canterbury, if you want to see some Christmas enchantment this year visit the Beaney to see a life-size Santa and his reindeer, and those magical Christmas elves. After visiting the workshop, take a walk around Canterbury’s cobbled streets and festive activities to get into the Christmas spirit.

Festive Folkestone

Every weekend from 27th November

Celebrate the festive season at Folkestone Harbour Arm's first-ever Christmas market! Get your Christmas gifts all wrapped up, feast on festive treats and journey to The Lighthouse for drinks. Bring an empty stomach, there'll be delicious street food, magical music and festive films in The Yard.

A real-life Rochester Dickensian Christmas carol

The whole family will enjoy the magical enchantment of Rochester Christmas Market and the Dickensian festival! From fairy lights draped over traditional German wooden chalets, to the chance to see a parade, costumed characters and open-air carol concerts. For the full festive programme check here.

Tonbridge Castlemas

10th - 19th December

If you want to be sprinkled with Christmas magic this season, Tonbridge Castle will be featuring an enchanting igloo theatre, Castlemas brew at the Jingle Bell bar and a shop local Christmas market. Magical music and even a Santa's Grotto, we can't wait to celebrate Castlemas this year!

Trebah Garden of Light

If you want to get in the Christmas mood, Trebah Garden is hosting a winter festival of lights for Cornwall. Suitable for all ages, you can create your own lantern with support from local artists. You’ll also find plenty of cheer at the Eden Project.

Meet Santa at the Lost Gardens of Heligan

Santa himself will be bringing Christmas cheer to the Lost Gardens of Heligan this year! You can share your stories, hopes and wishes with him. You can write a letter to him in the Melon Yard, even take home a small gift. You and your family will be welcomed to the exclusive festive reserve yard. Make this Christmas a cracker.

Meet Santa at Newquay Zoo

18th - 24th December 2021

If you want to enjoy a furry festive Christmas, Santa’s magical grotto will be at Newquay Zoo. You can learn to make reindeer food at the elf workshop to sprinkle on your lawn before bedtime. This enchanting event can be enjoyed by everyone in your family.

Christmas at Trerice

Do you want an adventure this Christmas? Wander the winter trail at this Elizabethan manor house in Trerice, Percy and his animal friends need some helpers to step into his wellies and give nature a helping hand.

Christmas at Camel Creek

Join Santa Elves in their workshop for festive arts and crafts, and enjoy tasty mulled wine and hot chocolate on a walk through an enchanted Christmas Tree Forest. You can also taste some delicious festive treats in Dina’s Christmas shack. You won’t want to miss out on visiting Camel Creek at Christmas!

Christmas is extra special when you make precious family traditions, so this holiday season, why not make choosing the perfect tree one of yours? Put on your boots, wrap up warm and enjoy a great day in the New Forest at New Park, Brockenhurst. The experts at Forestry England offer a wide selection of sustainably-grown British Christmas trees, while providing you with a wonderful festive experience!

Dance the night away at The Balmer Lawn Hotel, Brockenhurst

12pm - 11pm everyday

Join The Lodge Kitchen & Bar at The Balmer Lawn Hotel for the biggest party in the New Forest.

Their outdoor pizza oven will be serving freshly made pizza while a live DJ plays from 5pm - 11pm. It will be an Après Ski themed restaurant, so whether you want to dance at your table or enjoy the atmosphere, you will have a great time!

Afternoon tea with Santa at the New Park Manor Hotel, Brockenhurst

2pm to 4pm, 20th – 22nd December

In celebration of Christmas, the New Park Manor Hotel is offering a specially-designed Afternoon Tea complete with a very special guest. Visit them in December when Santa will arrive for a festive "ho ho ho" and a gift for all the children!

Enjoy a day of farming fun at the Lockdown Activity Farm!

26th November – 23rd December

The Festive Lodge will welcome you with sparkling lights and festive decorations, where you can meet Father Christmas in a magical world of twinkling trees and snow.
There are a number of play areas where children have the opportunity to run off their adrenaline including go-karts, mini tractors, crazy golf, diggers, and the Piglets Play Barn.

Christmas at Paultons Park!

4th – 23rd December

The Park is transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland with lights, decorations, and illuminations everywhere you look. At the gateway building, guests will be welcomed by a magical light show featuring a giant musical Christmas tree that comes to life every 15 minutes.
Santa will appear in his Magical Christmas Wish show daily for storytime! There will also be meet and greets with Peppa Pig and George Pig in their festive outfits at Peppa Pig World!

Santa specials at Mid Light Railway

18th – 19th December

Enjoy a magical ride in the heart of Suffolk with the Mid Suffolk Light Railway Santa Special. Steam trains run from Brockford Station to ‘North Pole Halt’, where each child receives a present from Santa in his Guards Van.

Assist Santa and his helpers at Easton Farm Park!

4th – 24th December

Easton Farm Park offers children the chance to see and experience the holiday farm animals at Christmas time. Besides making food for Santa's reindeer and decorating gingerbread, the children will also assist the elves with present selection!

Illuminated Garden Trail at Helmingham Hall Gardens

19th November – 19th December

The illuminated trail around Helmingham Hall's historic gardens is back and is even better than before. Combined with mulled wine, s'mores, and toasted marshmallows, it truly is a winter wonderland experience!

Christmas at Kentwell!

13th November - 19th December

Discover the animals and garden crafts at the stables as you walk along the Days of Christmas Trail. Mother Christmas will welcome you to Father Christmas's Cottage, helping you write and post your Christmas letter! The event will include a giant sleigh for you to ride in and a family visit with Father Christmas for families with children under the age of eleven.
