Escape to the great outdoors. We’re at the heart of it.
If you’re planning to get away in a tent or tourer, there’s a high chance that you love getting up close to nature — natural wonders, wildlife, coast and countryside.
Without a doubt, north Cornwall ticks all the boxes. It’s a nature lover’s paradise.
Once you’ve arrived at Sun haven, been greeted by our team and you’re all pitched up, may we suggest that your holiday starts with a short stroll down to the beautiful, secluded beach right on our doorstep — Mawgan Porth?
For its cleanliness, facilities and water quality, it’s been awarded Blue Flag status. You’d be hard pressed to find a better place for those morning dog walks!
Head slightly north along the South West Coast Path and you’ll discover the stunning coastal backdrop of the Bedruthan Steps; head along the path in the other direction and you’ll arrive at Beacon Cove, a lesser-frequented (but no less picturesque) destination and hiking favourite.
We could go on! When you arrive, feel free to ask our team for their recommendations — there’s so many walking routes, charming villages and idyllic, sun-dappled countryside walking trails to fill your holiday.

Start the day with some freshly-baked croissants from our on-park café, perhaps followed by a summer’s morning stroll through woodland to our nearby sandy beach whilst you plan the day’s activities. Off The Path Coffee Co. is just up the road, too.
Although we appreciate you might be on a camping holiday to disconnect and leave everything behind, our park also has WiFi connectivity — ideal for sharing your latest picture-postcard smartphone snaps!
Wherever your day’s adventures take you, you can toast the sunset and unwind by making use of our communal fire pit. Or head to one of the many Michelin-starred eateries in St Mawgan, Newquay or Padstow. Our park café even does pizza after 5pm every Saturday!
We know how easy it is to forget a couple of those essentials. Fear not, our on-park shop stocks camping equipment, household items, toiletries, children’s toys — as well as a few little luxuries (confectionery, souvenirs, alcoholic drinks, local ice cream — even doggy ice cream!).
To keep the little ones entertained, we even have a children’s play area. That’s not forgetting our facilities for canine campers, either; the K9 Campers snack bar is bound to go down a treat.
Dog & child friendly
Quick beach access
Welcome to the surf capital of the world.
Seasoned surfer looking to hone your skills, or stepping on the board and hitting the white water for the first time? Fistral beach undoubtedly takes the crown as the world-class hotspot for riding waves, just a quarter-hour drive from our park.
Because of its well-earned reputation, Fistral can sometimes become a little crowded — but fear not. Harlyn Bay and Widemouth Bay both have excellent surf schools, ideal for beginners, as well as opportunities for masters to catch some big waves.
For intrepid, experienced surf fans, The Cribbar is known for its 30-footers, with The Strangles also worth a visit if you’re after peace, quiet and big waves.
So your gear’s ready to go for next time, we have an on-park board and wetsuit wash at Sun Haven.
So, what sets us apart?
Nestled in the woodland of Mawgan Porth, our Newquay campsite’s location and amenities are the bee’s knees, but we like to think it’s our commitment to service that makes us a truly special place to pitch up.
From the moment you arrive, we’ll be ready to greet you and guide you to your pitch, providing the lowdown on our facilities.
Pick our brains, if you’d like! Looking for recommendations of the best pubs in the area? Merrymoor Inn and Falcon Inn are within easy walking distance from our site. The Travellers Rest, slightly further afield, does a great homemade meal and ale. Looking for top tips for nearby walks? The Bedruthan Steps circular is easily up there.
Did you know that we’re also a B Corp? This is a leading certification of our environmental and social performance as a campsite (we’re actually the only holiday park group in the UK to have such status).
Enjoy an eco-friendly camping experience! From the plastic-free park shop to the plumbing system, every aspect of Sun Haven has sustainability at its core.
Canine campers warmly welcomed.
Given the abundance of walking trails, beaches and dog-friendly pubs in the area, we wouldn’t want any of your four-legged family members to miss out. Fido will love it at our luxury campsite in Newquay!
The vast majority of north Cornwall’s beaches are completely dog friendly, so your four-legged pals can join you. A few of our secluded favourites are Mawgan Porth, Pentire Steps and Whipsiderry — all welcoming of dogs year round.
If you’re heading into town, most of Newquay’s beaches — Fistral, Crantock and Perran Sands — are all pro-pup.
Sun Haven is completely pet friendly. As well as on-park dog showers, we have a K9 Campers treat bar and can provide balls and poop bags if needed.
Experience Cornwall: discover coves, woodland, clifftops, incredible eateries and iconic landmarks.
Your camping holiday in Newquay begins the moment you start planning — so let’s get to it! From Porth reservoir to the Bedruthan Steps circular and Crantock to Holywell, Newquay plays host to an endless list of walks with jaw-dropping panoramic backdrops.
North Cornwall is as famous for its cuisine as it is its white water waves — The Fish House, Lusty Glaze and The Fish Bar are just three of many incredible seafood eateries on offer in Newquay. Just up the road in picturesque Padstow, Rick Stein runs four Michelin-starred restaurants. It’s well worth setting aside an evening for a visit, in our opinion.
Depending on how long you’re with us at Sun Haven, you might also want to dedicate a day or two to heading further afield! Another virtue of Cornwall? Everything is within such easy reach.
Looking for family fun? Check out Flambards Theme Park, Lappa Valley railway, The Eden Project or Newquay’s zoo and aquarium. Wanting to soak up iconic Cornwall landmarks? Saint Michael’s Mount, Land’s End, Tintagel Castle and The Lost Gardens should be high up your list.
Or to just day trip it to Cornwall’s lovely towns for independent shopping, eating and sight-seeing. Consider Port Isaac, St Ives, Padstow, Penzance, Looe, Polperro, Falmouth and Fowey.
